HMScan

Privacy Policy

Last updated 4 November 2026. This policy covers the HMScan and HMScan Viewer apps for Meta Quest and hmscan.com.

What the app uses

To build a model, HMScan uses the headset's cameras and tracking while you scan. It saves photos, depth and models in the app's own storage on your headset.

What leaves your headset

HMScan does not upload your scans or photos. There are no HoneyMotion servers for them and no HoneyMotion account. Files leave your headset only when you copy them off yourself.

Meta runs the store, your Meta account and the headset's system software. Their handling of your data is covered by Meta's own policies.

HMScan Viewer

HMScan Viewer opens the 3D files you choose. It does not use the camera, has no internet permission and collects nothing. Files you open stay on your headset, and a temporary copy is kept in the app's own storage while you view them.

People in your scans

Only scan someone who has agreed. If a scan or photo includes a person, it stays on your headset under your control.

Deleting your data

Delete in the app removes a scan, its versions and its photos. Files you exported to Download/HMScan stay there until you remove them. Uninstalling the app removes its own storage. We hold no copy, so there is nothing for us to delete.

This website

hmscan.com sets no cookies and has no analytics. Cloudflare hosts the site and may process connection data, such as IP addresses, to deliver and protect it.

Children

HMScan is for ages 13 and up.
